Shina grew up in the shadows of Mount Kilimanjaro, in the small village of Loitokitok. After completing high school with the help of KEF, she received a full scholarship to Harvard University. Amazingly, Shina is the first Maasai woman ever to attend Harvard as an undergraduate.
During her summers, Shina interned at BlackRock Financial, the world’s largest asset manager, in New York City. They were so impressed with her work that they then offered her a full-time position upon graduation.
