At East Africa Safari Ventures we are always on the lookout for incredible properties to add to our portfolio. Places that we know our guests will love and remember for a lifetime.
We were recently in Tanzania and stayed at Ngare Sero Lodge located in the Mountain Lodge Conservancy, only a 40minute drive from Arusha airport, making this the perfect base to start any safari in northern Tanzania.
The lodge is one of the oldest family owned and managed lodges in East Africa, hosting guests since 1974. Guests are hosted by the family and Tim & Katya along with their daughter Dahlia are always at hand. Set in lush gardens amid 50 acres of forest and crystal clear lakes on the slopes of Mount Meru, the lodge has been adapted from a German colonial farmhouse built at the beginning of the last century. One of the unique attributes of this property is that along with a clear view of Mt Kilimanjaro, it offers beautiful garden facing rooms and two private cottages which can accommodate larger groups of up to 12 people. The addition of a family room in the attic which has views of both Mt Meru & Kilimanjaro makes this a lovely destination for families, honeymooners or groups of friends…..or even a special occasion.
During a stay guests can enjoy walks in the fifty acres of forest, a punt on the lakes, visits to Arusha National Park and Mt Meru, local community visits or just relaxing in the beautiful gardens, inhabited by troops of Sykes and black and white Colobus monkeys. If you need to get off your feet, but still want to explore, you have the option to tour the grounds or further afield on horseback.
