One of only 28 Kenya Professional Safari Guide Association gold-level guides in Kenya, Isaac Rotich is a world-class naturalist and a fantastically enthusiastic guide.
His career in the bush started in the early 90’s, working on mountain bike safaris, where he quickly worked his way up through the ranks and by 1998 he had become the head guide for Abercrombie & Kent’s flagship camp in the Maasai Mara. During his 6 years with A&K, Isaac was given the opportunity to work in a great variety of safari destinations, including 2 years in camps in Botswana. In 2004, he returned to Kenya and worked as head guide and manager at camps in the Maasai Mara and Amboseli.
Since 2010, Isaac has been working as a private guide, leading safaris to Kenya, Tanzania, Uganda, The Congo and Botswana. He has a passion for communities and conservation, and is particularly driven to improve the livelihood of communities living alongside wildlife, especially those cultures that are steadily vanishing in our modern world. Although his knowledge of the bush and wildlife is wide-ranging, he has a particular passion for ornithology.
Isaac lives in Nairobi, Kenya, where he is married with 3 children.
