Located on the coast Dar Es Salaam is a lively waterfront city that blends African, Indian and Arab influences to create a unique urban culture. Dar Es Salaam, on a beautiful stretch of the Indian Ocean, means “haven of peace”.
Some have gone so far as to describe Dar as East Africa’s most likeable city. One thing is for sure – there is plenty to see. The harbour of Kivukoni Front is a bustling fish market where locals unload their catch from dhows moored along the shores in the early morning. A drive along the coast offers beach lovers the opportunity to escape the hustle and bustle of city life on Mbudya and Bongoyo Island.
The architecture of the city shows heavy German, Asian and British influences. Some architectural highlights include St. Joseph’s Cathedral and the Azanian Front Lutheran Church with its shaded gardens. The National Museum and House of Culture is also worth a visit.
Our properties are all centrally located for short commutes to the airport and many offer stunning views over the harbour and Indian Ocean.
